the benefits of working with us
The seafood industry is all about repeat business and Mardon enjoy the benefits of many long term relationships around the globe, providing our valued partners with a reliable and professional service. As markets develop and new species are introduced, Mardon are perfectly positioned to remain at the forefront of changing trends.
Mardon gained a world first in 2014 as the first to gain BRC certification for agents and brokers and are proud to have this certification which showcases our technical strengths. Mardon Qingdao who are upholding the same standards received the second certificate for this certification.
We employ specialist technical staff to ensure compliance with customer specifications and requirements for hygiene, traceability, sustainability, environment and auditing.
Knowledge of market
Each country possesses its own distinct nuances and market characteristics. Through decades of hard work operating at the sharp end of the frozen fish export industry, our Mardon team possess genuine and effective market knowledge and expertise.
Duties & quotas
We track the quotas. If anything changes, for example a quota runs out or the duty rate alters, we won’t change our contracts, we honour our original agreements.
We understand the need for flexible payment solutions – therefore we allow for negotiable payment terms. We pay upfront for raw materials and give extended payment terms to our partners.
We shoulder the risks so others don’t have to. Such risk may entail sudden market changes or exchange rate movements, transport problems or Port Health issue.
Our logistics department arranges all required documents; health and catch certificates, bills of lading, invoices etc. All documentation must be correct otherwise goods risk being denied entry at port.
Mardon endeavours to uphold all international and ethical standards. We strive to combat illegal and overfishing by maintaining our traceability IUU catch certificate system programme. We are also members of the Marine Stewardship Council.
Mardon will ship full containers and hold in EU coldstores for customers to ‘drawdown’ from in smaller quantities over a period of time.
